About This Webcast

This 90 minute webcast will discuss the requirements of the new and existing laws for family planning Title X providers. Policies and systems that need to be in place to serve adolescent family planning clients in California will also be discussed. This session meets the training requirement for the OPA Program Instruction Series on Title X Grantee Compliance with Grant Requirements and Applicable Federal and State Law, including State Reporting Laws.

As a result of this webcast, listeners will be able to:

  • Describe the confidentiality and reporting laws pertaining to sexual abuse.
  • State two approaches for implementing the relevant laws into clinic practice.

Speakers

Rebecca Gudeman, JD, MPA, is a senior attorney specializing in adolescent health care. She directs the National Center for Youth Law's adolescent reproductive health project, and is author of numerous articles and papers on consent and confidentiality law, and trains nationally on these issues.

Deborah Hatch, RNC, NP, MSN, has been a clinician in family planning for over 30 years. She is a sexual assult examiner and has trained staff in various capacities.
