The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is expected to release new recommendations for treating sexually transmitted infections in fall 2010. The purpose of this 90-minute webinar is to detail major changes in recommendations from those outlined in the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Treatment Guidelines, 2006; highlight the advantages of nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT) for the diagnosis of Chlamydia and gonorrhea; and describe patient preference and criteria for using vaginal swabs vs. other specimen types. This webinar presentation will offer time for the listening audience to ask questions and share their experiences and perspectives.
