This web-based, interactive course is designed for staff to gain the knowledge needed to conduct basic family planning education and counseling.
- Title X program (Federal family planning funding) overview, including confidentiality, informed consent and voluntary participation
- Reproductive anatomy, physiology and the menstrual cycle
- Contraceptive choices
The course is designed to be completed in 2 hours, but once you begin, you can stop and resume it at any time. It must be completed within two weeks of registering for the course, at which time your registration will expire. There is an optional post-test. You must achieve a 90% score to pass. You can email email@example.com if you would like a certificate of completion or CEs emailed to you. You must pass the post-test to receive a certificate. You may attempt the post-test as many times as you need in order to pass.
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 02604, for 2.4 contact hours.
There is a $15 fee to take the course. There is an additional $15 fee for CEs.
Designed for community health workers, medical assistants, nurses, counselors or any staff interested in learning basic family planning information. It is geared for staff who are new to family planning or would like a refresher.
Note: Completing this course and passing the post- test allows staff to attend the FPB: Education & Counseling Certification Course. This in-person training session focuses on counseling skills and allows participants to practice and apply the information from the E-Learning course. Certificates of Competency are available.
