About this Course

This course covers an overview of learning styles and training techniques, and reviews ethics and confidentiality for clinic staff.

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Apply adult learning theory,
  • Identify learning techniques and preferences,
  • Apply the use of proper presentation and/or facilitation strategies, methods and techniques, and
  • Apply the proper use of ethics and confidentiality.

Who Should Register

This course is suitable for community health workers and community health worker instructors, health educators and others who are new to in-person training.

Continuing Education (CE)

This course provides 2.0 houra of CHW and CHW-I Continuing Education (.5 Interpersonal skills, .5 Capacity Building skills, 1.0 Teaching skills).

Cardea is approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services to provide continuing CHW hours in Texas, Certification #44 and continuing CHW-I hours in Texas, Certification #55.
