About this Independent Study
This 1.5 hour online, self-paced course offers an overview of postpartum depression, including signs, symptoms, and steps to take if someone suspects a client is experiencing depression.
At the end of this program, the CHW will be able to:
- Identify at least 2 – 3 signs & symptoms of depression
- List the risk factors for postpartum depression
- Describe screening tools for mental health
- List steps CHWs can take to address mental health
Who Should Register
This course is designed for community health workers and community outreach/education staff. Other staff who work with clients who have given birth recently will also benefit.
Continuing Education
Texas community health workers (CHWs) can apply for 1.5 hours of continuing CHW education.
Cardea Services is an approved provider of continuing education credits by: The Texas Department of State Health Services.
